Jacquelynne Steves @ The Art of Home is sharing a free Block of the Month!
So now about this sweet block of the month - sew sweet, sew easy - using squares, half-squares and flying geese units. Jacquelynne's got a great tutorial for easy peasy flying geese HERE.
I'm gathering my fabric, thinking of possibilities for this darling Sew-Along. My favorite color combo right now (which changes daily, of course...) is red with teal, especially in my sewing room, since I have both a little red featherweight and a little teal Kaiser sewing machine... and loads of little accessory snippets to match, of course. And I'm thinking my new quilt will hang out on the couch in the sewing room, so I'm considering these...

Now to decide: applique', embroidery, or a floral print for the block centers. Maybe a little of each? Here's a sneak peek from Jacquelynne's blog:
I really enjoy Jacquelynne's sweet blog and newsletter - a gal after my own heart - making stuff and sharing it! Her blog is loaded with free tutorials, recipes, patterns and an ebook, and now this free block of the month! And just to get things rolling, she's provided a pattern bundle to give away! Isn't that just sew sweet?
UPDATE: Thanks for playing! Giveaway is now closed. Winner will be announced on Monday, 10/27/14.
Of course, you're always welcome to follow Quiltscapes here, on facebook, bloglovin' etc.etc., but not a requirement for the giveaway. And the block of the month? See all the details and sign up for Jacquelynne's newsletter HERE. Kickoff is October 27th if you'd like to play along!

ReplyDeleteI'm a real scrappy girl, so no particular color combo....but....for this I'm leaning towards '30's reports in all colors.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw your colors, I said "Wow, I really like that combination"! So my answer is reds and teals ;-> at least for now.
ReplyDeleteGreat fabric choices for this project. Picking fabrics is half of the fun. I am thinking that I would like to do a combination of embroidery and applique for this one. This looks like a fun project and I will enjoy making it with my granddaughter.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much this looks like great fun. I love your colors
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the Block of the Month.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color combo is blue and white perhaps with a light touch of yellow.
ReplyDeleteI really like that color palate. I pick fabrics that I love individually then they look terrible when assembled!
ReplyDeleteLove your colors. I like purples, or blue and white, but I know I need to find some fun colors for this BOM. 2 or 3 just won't work! I look forward to playing.
ReplyDeleteReally like greens or blues with creams.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color every day 24/7 is a deep turquoise. I also love turquoise with peach or rosy bright pink, pure yellow - no mustard, a clear navy or midnight blue. I enjoy aqua and mint green. Once in a while I find a light cherry red which also goes well with turquoise. I cannot abide beige, most browns, nor olive or drab green. My granddaughter wanted her bedroom painted beige. She got a bright yellow - it was the closest I could tolerate to beige! Love bright colors, warmth and lights, but not many darks. Life can be dreary enough without adding to it.
ReplyDeleteWell lets SEE My Fav..... Colors are Dark Hunters Green and Peach I even have My House that Color a pale Peach with dark Green trim. :)
